| TechLaw was founded in 1983 by individuals
who led the design and implementation of enforcement and compliance
programs during the 1970’s in the newly-formed U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA). They found that resolution of complex environmental
cases typically involves an understanding of technical disciplines,
application of legal and regulatory principles, and use of technology
to store, analyze, distill, and synthesize large amounts of data.
The concept of TechLaw grew out of their recognition that technology
and law were interrelated, and that their experience would be valuable
to clients faced with challenges at this complex technical-legal
juncture.
Over time—emphasizing environmental health and safety (EH&S),
law, and information management technology—TechLaw became
a principal service provider of case development and litigation
support services to the government and commercial sectors. In 1997,
TechLaw expanded its technical qualifications when it acquired
the former A.T. Kearney Environment, Health and Safety Practice.
Spurred on by growing business in an expanding variety of disciplines,
a parent company, TLI Holdings was created in 2006 to oversee
three distinct sister companies: TechLaw, TLI
Solutions, and TechLaw
Solutions. TLI Solutions provides environmental consulting services
to DoD and DOE agencies, as well as private clients. TechLaw Solutions
provides state-of-the-art document and electronic file management
services to help its clients cull, convert, analyze, and manage
large or complex sets of electronic files, data, and documents.
Today, TechLaw thrives in matters demanding innovative thinking,
while providing a unique blend of hands-on scientific, regulatory,
legal, and technical consulting expertise for federal, state, and
local public sector clients. |
