TechLaw Nabs $7.2 Million EPA Task Order Award; Becomes Largest Environmental Services and Operations Contractor

Company has won nearly $20 million in awards under EPA Contract Vehicle in 3 Years

CHANTILLY, VA (Sept. 15, 2021) — The US Environmental Protection Agency has awarded TechLaw a $7.2 million Task Order to provide a wide range of environmental oversight at three US Department of Energy sites in the Southeast over the next six years. The award from EPA Region 4 is the single largest Task Order issued under EPA’s nationwide Environmental Services and Operations (ESO) Contract, and it boosts TechLaw’s total awards under ESO to $19.97 million—the most awarded to any ESO contractor to date.

“We are proud of our 38 years of support to EPA and we are heartened by the agency’s continued trust in us,” says TechLaw COO Patricia Derocher. “There is plenty of important environmental work ahead throughout the country, and we look forward to remaining a key provider of scientific support as EPA pursues its mission.”

Under the Region 4 Task Order Award, TechLaw will provide environmental remediation support at three contaminated Department of Energy locations: Oak Ridge Reservation, Oak Ridge, TN; Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant, Paducah, KY; and Savannah River Site, Aiken, SC. All three sites were historically used to support the nation&rquo;s nuclear weapons programs and are contaminated with radioactive and other hazardous waste. They have been undergoing cleanup for the last several years, with TechLaw&rquo;s previous technical support at all three sites dating back to 2006 under other EPA contracts.

Launched in 2018, EPA’s Remedial Action Framework (RAF)-ESO was opened to 21 qualified small-business bidders—including TechLaw—to compete nationwide on individual task orders to support EPA Superfund cleanup programs via technical oversight work, including: field work and analytical support, remedy operations (including long-term response actions), and preliminary assessment/site investigation activities. To date, TechLaw has been awarded 23 such task orders spanning eight of 10 EPA regions. ESO contracts run through 2023, with a 5-Year Option period extending to 2028.
