TechLaw wins $9.97 million contract in Northeast; becomes EPA's largest Environmental Services Assistance Team contractor

CHANTILLY, Va. (September 30, 2014) — A $9.97 million support contract awarded today to TechLaw, Inc., makes TechLaw the US Environmental Protection Agency’s largest contractor for EPA’s Environmental Services Assistance Team (ESAT) hazardous waste analysis program, both in number of contracts and dollar value.

The new seven-year award in EPA Region 2 gives TechLaw management of five of EPA’s 10 ESAT regional contracts, with a combined value of more than $62.7 million. In 2013, TechLaw was awarded similar ESAT contracts in EPA Regions 1 (New England), 5 (Upper Midwest), 8 (Rockies) and 10 (Pacific Northwest). Region 2 covers the states of New York and New Jersey, along with the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and eight Tribal Nations.

“This is a major milestone for our company,” says TechLaw President Patricia Derocher. “We are proud of our support of this important program, and we look forward to continuing our work with EPA, both on ESAT and on our other contracts that support EPA’s mission and goals.”

The ESAT program primarily supports the EPA Superfund Program, as well as other agency programs, and federal and state agencies through identification, assessment, and remediation of environmental hazards that pose a threat to human health or the environment.

With the newest award, TechLaw now holds more than $117 million in prime contracts across multiple EPA support programs. Most of those contracts run through 2020 and beyond. TechLaw also holds several EPA subcontracts, as well as millions of dollars in prime contracts with several state and local agencies across the country. The Region 2 ESAT contract will be managed from TechLaw’s regional office in New York and EPA’s laboratory in Edison, NJ.
